MATH QUESTION OF THE DAY 


A vendor sells 60 percent of apples he had and throws away 15 percent of the remainder. Next day he sells 50 percent of the remainder and throws away the rest. What percent of his apples does the vendor throw away?

Total 100 apple. 60% sole and left 40. 15%(6 apples) of 40 has been thrown. Left 34. 50% of that have been sold and rest is 50% of 34 i.e. 17
As 17 if 17% of 100 so... Ans A

Consider 100 apples, He sells 60 out of it.
And he has 40 apples remaining. He throws 15% of 40 apples i.e. 6 apples and has 34 apples remaining. Next day he sells 50% apples i.e. 17 apples and throws remaining i.e. 17. Total apples thrown = 17+6 = 23. % apples thrown = 23/100 = 23%
