 EBecause.. 2 is even but prime. so A can't be the ans.

 from statements 1 and 2, you can tell that the number must not be a prime since no even number is a prime, except 2. Thus, C should be the answer

 The question itself states its positive, there for statement 1 should be irrelevant. Statement 2 alone is sufficent to determine the answer. B

 C. A says that x is even, so it could be any even #. 2 is even and prime but 4,6,8 is even and not prime..Not sufficientB says that any integer between 2 and 19.. 3 is prime but 4 is not prime.Combining A and B - 4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18 none of them are prime.
