Zero is an even number. However, zero is neither positive nor negative.
The concept of odd and even numbers applies only to integers. Fractions and irrational numbers cannot be odd or even. However, counter to intuition, negative numbers can be odd or even.
Therefore, -1 is really an odd number, but -2 is an even number.
Because infinity is not an integer, plus infinity and minus infinity are both neither even nor odd. |
